I just got my new WiFi printer all hooked up. Damnation that's cool! Our old printer - and I do mean OLD - linked through our aged-running-Windows-95-desktop situated back in the office. Suzanne and I both operate PCs with wireless connections elsewhere in the house. In order to print from them we've had to fire up the old desktop to activate the printer. Seriously, the only purpose that computer has served in recent memory has been driving the old printer.
Now, we can discard both old machines and a computer desk!
Special thanks to Gary, my dude in tech-support, who provided me some key information on my network security settings. When I ditched DSL, I had forgotten how he had adjusted my security for the cable connection.
And did I mention that WiFi printing is cool? Well, it is!
I picked up Lexmark's x6570. It's an all-in-one providing two-sided color printing, full page scanner (replacing another piece of equipment), and fax machine (though I have no use for that). Normally, it retails for $149. I nabbed it for $109.
Woot!
So far, I'm very impressed with the print quality.
