Dude, I'm glad you read the blog and all, but shouldn't you be - you know - hunting down the dude that killed your wife? Priorities, man!

"I find it so mind numbing that here we are living in one of the most wonderful countries in the world and people are just throwing their lives away by being slaves to content on a monitor."
The boys over at FanBoy Radio talk about Wizard World Texas and the live art show benefitting Heroes 4 Heroes in episode #431 of their podcast. H4H a charitable organization sharing portable media such as comics, DVDs, books, magazines, MP3 players, and game systems to our men and women serving in the armed forces allowing our folks in uniform to remain culturally connected to the nation they serve.
H4H was co-founded by FBR host Scott Hinze.
I didn't hear about the art show until too late, so I wasn't there. I did see a bunch of the art after the fact and man-oh-man, some beautiful work came out of it. The goal was to have 300 in attendance. 500 were there. They wanted to raise $6000. They pulled in $10,000.
Great job!

Don, as he posted in his LiveJournal entry, didn't have a very good time.
Matt Morrison over at the ComicsNexus posted his WWTX entry a few days ago. He's got some great pics... and captured an image of the elusive Scottish Batman.
Rowan of the Wood talks about their success at Wizard World Texas and even uses the picture I took of them!
Tom Hodges, creator of Red 5's Midnight, shares some of his sketchwork from the con.

In 1985 this final version of Hanna-Barbera's Superfriends premiered. The Superfriends were once again headquartered at the Hall of Justice in Metropolis, and battled such familiar foes as Lex Luthor, Scarecrow and Darkseid. Second only to Challenge of the Superfriends, Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians was one of the most faithful TV adaptations of DC Comic superheroes. Like its predecessor, SuperFriends: The Legendary Super Powers show, Galactic Guardians featured Adam West as Batman along with featuring Superman and Robin and showcasing relatively new superheroes Firestorm and Cyborg as well as members of previous Super Friend incarnations (Samurai, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Hawkman, The Flash). The show featured Darkseid of Apokolips and his minions Kalibak and DeSaad as the primary protagonists. Other DC villains (the Joker, Lex Luthor, the Penguin, Scarecrow, Felix Faust, Joker, The Penguin, Brainiac, etc.) also appeared from time to time.

Aquaman, King of the Seven Seas, also features his teen-aged sidekick Aqualad, Mera (who is referred to as an "Atlantean girl" in the series), and Aqualad's pet walrus, Tusky. Also featured are the Aqua-duo's sea horses, Storm and Imp. Set in the lost city of Atlantis, Aquaman is the hero from the deep who protects the sea against any foes who threaten the peaceful undersea life. Aided by his ward Aqualad, Aquaman fights for justice on the ocean floor while keeping close contact with friends on dry land.

After the outstanding success of the 2006 Global-O ('cuz, you know, what a remarkably peaceful year this has been!), the world is coming together for another go at it. It's all about science measuring the effect of human consciousness on the world, my friends.
Seriously!
The Science
The Global Consciousness Project (http://noosphere.princeton.edu), runs a network of Random Event Generators (REGs) around the world, which record changes in randomness during global events. The results show that human consciousness can be measured to have a global effect on matter and energy during widely-watched events such as 9/11 and the Indian Ocean tsunami. There have also been measurable results during mass meditations and prayers.
The Zero Point Field or Quantum Field surrounds and is part of everything in the universe. It can be affected by human consciousness, as can be seen when simple observation of a subatomic particle changes the particle’s state.
We hope that a huge influx of physical, mental and spiritual energy with conscious peaceful intent will not only show up on Princeton’s REGs, but will have profound positive effects that will change the violent state of the human world.
So go get your nut! The fate of the world may depend on it!
Global Orgasm day is December, 22nd.

Man, I can't tell you how many times this has happened to me...

I came home with tons of free stuff from the convention. Items were provided because I was simply there, because I was a 3-day ticket holder, and because I had a press pass. So, all kinds of good stuff.
The Swag:
All items are in the condition in which they were provided to me, which as far as I can tell is Near Mint.
THE RULES:
At Wizard World Texas this past weekend, a mechanical bull was in the hizouse throwing fanboys around left, right, and center. Well... here's a little video of The Black Bastard showing the bull what's what!
